Mask mandate repealed…and then put back into place

Governor Tony Evers and Legislative Republicans are taking their battle over the public health emergency and mask mandate to a new level. Thursday afternoon, the Assembly approved a measure that would repeal the order–with Speaker Robin Vos claiming the Governor exceeded his authority in extending it twice without their approval. Minutes after that bill was approved, Governor Evers issued a new health emergency order and mask mandate.  The state Senate was set to hold an extraordinary session Friday to vote on the repeal of the original health order.
