MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WBAY) – Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s signature move was the skyhook. Giannis Antetokounmpo may be forever associated with the step-back three.
On a difficult step-back three-pointer, Antetokounmpo passed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the Milwaukee Bucks’ all-time scoring leader Thursday night against the Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Center.
Antetokounmpo scored his 14,214th career point 18 seconds into the fourth quarter, passing Abdul-Jabbar’s franchise record 14,211. Antetokounmpo had 42 points in the game.
He also gave the Bucks the 120-119 overtime win with a pair of free throws in the final seconds, clinching a playoff berth for the defending NBA champions. Antetokounmpo finished with 44 points (that’s 14,216 career points), 14 rebounds and six assists.
According to the Bucks, Antetokounmpo, their 15th overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, has become the team’s all-time leader in points, blocks and triple-doubles. He’s second in field goals, free throws, rebounds and assists; fifth in steals; and seventh in three-pointers.

The Bucks say he’s on pace to become the first player in NBA history to average 25 or more points, 10 or more rebounds, and 5 or more assists in four separate seasons.
He’s currently averaging a career-high 29.9 points — 2nd-best in the NBA right now — 11.6 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 1.45 blocks, and 1 steal per game.
Thursday was Antetokounmpo’s 652nd game for the Bucks and his 587th start.
