BUCHANAN, Wis. — An Outagamie County sheriff’s deputy is OK after nearly being hit by an alleged drunk driver.
Deputy Brent Baxter was trying to remove a deer carcass on Highway CE in Buchanan around 1 a.m. Tuesday when an SUV struck his patrol vehicle.
Baxter jumped out of the way as the SUV careened across the median.
The driver, Christopher Kitchenakow, took off on foot and was tracked down by Baxter.
He was arrested on suspicion of operating while intoxicated, third offense.
