A pair of IFL powerhouses met up at the Resch Center in Green Bay Sunday afternoon, as the Blizzard welcomed the defending IFL National Champion Arizona Rattlers to town, Green Bay seeking their first-ever victory against their foe from the West. It was the 8th meeting all-time for these two franchises, Arizona holding the lopsided 7-0 advantage entering play, and for all but 3 seconds, it appeared as though the Blizzard would finally nab that tally in the left column. Arizona had other plans, however.
The Rattlers took over with just 28 seconds remaining, trailing 47-44. Six plays, 45 yards and 25 seconds later, a Dalton Sneed connection to Jamal Miles stunned the packed house. Dawson Evitts added the extra point to give Arizona the critical 4-point cushion, 51-47. It was fitting, on “Faith and Family Night” at the Resch, that the Blizzard had one final Hail Mary in them, but the batted ball fell to the turf, and Green Bay fell to 0-8 all-time against Arizona and 1-2 on the young 2025 season, 51-47 the final.
It’s a quick turnaround for the Blizz who remains at home for a “Family Night” Friday affair with the Tulsa Oilers (1-1) – kickoff set for 6:05pm with a free laser light show to follow.
