De Pere is opening Legion Pool today, but only on a limited basis.
Parks Director Marty Kosobucki says because the pool is 50 years old, they have to fill it anyway and add chemicals to keep it running without problems. He says as long as they had to do that, the community should be able to benefit.
People can rent the pool, for groups between 10 and 25. He says they won’t have open swimming, but people can also reserve lap swimming times.
Lessons will start later this month.
